Our Story
Operating in Ballyshannon since 2016, Tyre Specialist Centre is a family-run business with many years of experience in the tyre industry. Michael Martin Jnr, along with his father, has been very successful in filling a gap in Ballyshannon’s automotive market.
Michael Jnr spent the best part of eight years away from home, learning as much as he could about his trade, working on some of the largest tyres in the world and bringing home an experience in OTR tyres that would be difficult to rival. It is this experience that allows us to offer a unique breakdown and onsite fitting service. Michael Snr is well known in the Donegal area for providing expert advice on tyres, having worked in the industry for over forty years.
Tyre Specialist Centre prides itself on providing a personal service to every customer. Our primary focus is on safety and you can always rely on either proprietor to have checked your vehicle personally before it leaves our premises. We aim to give the best advice to each customer, ensuring your safety on the road and allowing you to get the most out of your new tyres. We offer a wide range of products to suit all budgets.

Michael Martin Snr:
Co Owner
Michael is in partnership with his son, Michael Junior, here at Tyre Specialist Centre. Michael is well-known for providing a personal and caring service to all customers. Michael has been in the tyre industry for over forty years and knows his trade inside-out. With a heavy focus on safety, Michael involves the customer in every step of the process, from choosing the right tyre to alignment of the vehicle. His interaction with everyone that comes through the door ensures consistent customer satisfaction.
Michael Martin Jnr:
CO Owner
Michael is his father’s partner at Tyre Specialist Centre. Having spent eight years between Australia and Canada and completed years of extensive training, Michael brought home with him a dream to start his own business and a wealth of experience. While away from home, he worked mainly on mining machinery, some of which run on the largest tyres in the world. It is this experience that provided the foundations of our impressive breakdown service. Tyre fitting is his passion and he always says of his work “the bigger the better!”
Kyle Duncan
Lead Technician
Kyle is originally from Ballintra and has a keen interest in motors. He is our lead technician in the workshop and can often be spotted in the breakdown van. Kyle shows tremendous dedication to his work and has adopted our universal approach of safety-first.
Daire Warren
Tyre Technician
Daire is our part-time tyre technician. He joins the team whenever he can whilst also completing his secondary school education.
